Operating calca-Elec(-Gas)

During the flight, the percentage display continuously decreases based on the throttle position. At 50% throttle, an announcement stating “50% percent” is triggered. This serves as an indication that the program is functioning correctly and approximately half of the battery has been consumed.

If no alarms are set, there will be several percentage announcements during the flight. However, if alarms are configured, a discrete pre-warning with a “triple click” sound is given, followed by a gong sound and the announcement “Bingo” as the main warning.

Indeed, while in jets, the calculations start only when the throttle stick is pulled back, it is recommended to reset the display with a “Reset” as soon as the gasoline engine starts running in order to begin the calculations for the gasoline consumption at 100%.

Absolutely, configuring a tachometer (rpm sensor) instead of the safety switch is another viable option. In this setup, calca-Gas will only perform calculations when a certain minimum rpm is detected, which ensures that the system is active only during relevant operational phases. To address any potential telemetry dropouts, introducing a delay in the calculations can help avoid erroneous readings.

Long and Short Reset for IC Engines

For IC engines, there are two different types of resets, a short reset and a long reset, depending on the duration of the selected switch’s activation. The short reset always sets the value to 100%, while the long reset recalls the previously stored value. This value corresponds to the percentage that was saved during the last transmitter shutdown or model change, regardless of whether the “Multiple Flights” option is selected in the menu.

Reset Reminder

To avoid forgetting the reset after starting an IC engine, a trigger can be set under “Reset Reminder.” This trigger can be the actuation of the elevator or any other function. If the reset has not been performed after starting the engine, a one-time warning “Check Reset” will sound as soon as the elevator is operated.
